Marie Mortimer

Managing Director of loans.com.au

Marie launched loans.com.au in 2011 with the goal of helping Aussies with some of their biggest financial decisions - buying a home, a new car or refinancing to save on interest.

Marie has been instrumental in changing the way Australians apply for home loans by moving them online. Since then, she's helped thousands of happy customers across Australia.

To celebrate 10 years in business for loans.com.au, Marie was proud to launch the loans.com.au Women, Children & Community Program in 2021 to help local charities and organisations raise funds and awareness to achieve their mission.

Marie is extremely passionate about developing the FinTech industry in Australia, and is a Board Member of FinTech Australia and Director of FinTech QLD and, as well as a committee member for Women in Finance QLD. Marie is also a Director of community housing not-for-profit, Mangrove Housing, which provides affordable housing solutions for over 2000 at risk people in Queensland.

When she isn't at work, Marie loves to spend time with her husband and two young children.

Kim Cannon

Managing Director - Firstmac

Kim is founder and Managing Director of Firstmac.

Kim has grown Firstmac from a small family business of 2 people in 1979 to become Australia's 12th largest lender with more than 550 team members worldwide.

Firstmac is a wholesale funder, meaning customers can get a loan with Firstmac through a broker. Firstmac has been operating successfully for more than 40 years, and manages $14 billion in home and car loans under brands loans.com.au and Firstmac, making us larger than some smaller banks, building societies and credit unions.

Kim was there at the start of non-bank lending in Australia and is one of the leaders who challenged the banking industry at the time and made home loans more competitive for every day consumers.

Today, Firstmac is one of the few non-bank lenders left in Australia following the Global Financial Crisis, and Kim sees the Firstmac's role as providing much-needed competition in the industry alongside his daughter Marie with loans.com.au.

Kim's hobbies outside of work include sport, photography, videography and music. He is a die-hard fan of Pink Floyd - a fact you can't miss if you visit him in his office.

Tracey Boyes

Head of Human Resources

Tracey has been with Firstmac for more than 15 years since 2006. Tracey is at the heart of creating 'people' policies to improve diversity and in turn enhance business strategy for loans.com.au and Firstmac.

Tracey believes diversity isn't just about getting more people in your business, but also focusing on looking after existing staff, whether it's their first week or their 10th year.

As Head of HR and a key member of the Executive Team, Tracey focuses her efforts on making loans.com.au an Employer of the Future and constantly improving our processes for our people.

Examples include regularly reviewing and improving our flexible working arrangements, implementing domestic violence policies internally and externally for customers and staff, introducing mental health support tools for staff, and allowing staff to take paid leave for Charity Work and Community initiatives as part of the loans.com.au Women, Children & Community Program.

Outside of work, Tracey loves cooking and having family over. She also has two little Bichon Frise dogs that she adores so you'd often find her out and about walking them.

James Austin

Chief Financial Officer

James is the CFO of Firstmac and loans.com.au, joining us in 2005, he's been with us for more than 15 years.

James has a wealth of knowledge in treasury and capital markets and expertise in debt, equity, and derivative markets.

James has overseen the issuance of more than $32 billion of RMBS deals, and has successfully managed Firstmac and loans.com.au through volatile global funding markets including the GFC and COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the loans.com.au Women, Children & Community Program, James has taken part in the Steve Waugh Foundation Captains' Ride for four consecutive years. When he first participated, it was for the fun and challenge, but he now rides and raises funds for the families struggling to cope with their children's rare diseases.

Julie Sanders

Head of Operations

Julie is the Head of Group Operations for loans.com.au and Firstmac, a position she has held since 2011.

Julie's story is a great examples of how passionate we are about investing in our team and watching them grow with our family business. She started with us as a receptionist more than 22 years ago in the Firstmac Gold Coast office. Since then, she has worked her way up from Sales Support, Customer Care, Credit, Loan Administration, Customer Training, IT Development, Business Development Manager and Project Management, to a valued member of our Executive team.

In addition to her role as Head of Group Operations where she has daily operational oversight for our home and car loans, Julie works closely in the Executive team with Marie and Tracey on various female-led initiatives to improve diversity and enhance business strategy.

On weekends, Julie loves going to the beach with the family or stand up paddle boarding.

Kevin Kehoe

Chief Operating Officer

Kevin is a seasoned finance executive with over 25 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. Throughout his career, he has successfully executed strategic initiatives and demonstrated pivotal leadership as the Chief Financial Officer of a bank. In the finance industry, he has also played a crucial role in wholesale debt funding and risk management.

Currently, Kevin serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Firstmac, where he oversees product, strategy, and acquisitions, as well as the associated digital media and lead generation businesses. He has had multiple senior roles at Firstmac over two separate stints, including in his most recent role as General Manager of Strategy, where he played a critical role in the acquisition of various digital media businesses, websites, and intellectual property assets.

Prior to rejoining Firstmac, Kevin worked as the Chief Financial Officer for RACQ Bank and QT Mutual Bank for seven years. During his first stint at Firstmac, Kevin played an integral role in establishing wholesale funding vehicles and led Legal Risk and Compliance. Before joining Firstmac, he held various positions at Bendigo Bank in finance, internal audit, and treasury.

Kevin is a Certified Practising Accountant with a bachelor's degree in accounting, postgraduate qualifications in Applied Finance from Kaplan, and postgraduate qualifications in Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management from The Governance Institute of Australia.

David Gration

General Manager - Sales and Operations

David joined Firstmac in 2011 as Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance. He currently holds the position of General Manager, Sales and Operations for loans.com.au and Firstmac.

David has more than 20 years of retail banking experience, including senior management roles at big banks.

David has looks after our sales teams for both loans.com.au and Firstmac, as well as our sales support teams, Brisbane-based contact centre, IT team, operations, legal and collections teams.

As part of the loans.com.au Women, Children & Community Program, David has participated in the Challenge DV Darkness to Daylight for the last two years and completed more than 250km to raise awareness for Domestic Violence.

Outside of work, David loves the ocean, running and yoga. Fun fact - he can also juggle!
